Part 1: Beginners Silk Painting Workshop

This introduction to silk painting is an adventure with colours and fabric!
Learn the techniques of hand painting on silk for making items such as scarves, garment/dress lengths, wall hangings, in a series of workshops, experience plastic work and discovering the flexibility of gutta and the sensational colours of silk dyes. Enjoy the satisfaction of framing your silk art. Suitable for beginners and advance students. Group size is limited, basic materials and equipment are provided.

Part 2: Silk Painting Workshop

This introduction to silk painting is an adventure with colours and fabric! Bring along a photo or drawing of a buildings, flowers etc and experience the adventure as it unfolds into a piece of art work. Suitable for beginners and advance students. Group size is limited. basic materials and equipment are provided.

Part 3: Cecile’s Creative Machine Embroidery Workshop (2 day workshop)

With your collection of hand painted silks and other fabrics add another dimension to the creative process. In a series of workshops you will learn such things as reverse and regular appliqué, and how to use your sewing machine for decorative embroidery.
About the Artist Cecile Arndt Cecile Arndt is an experienced Fabric Artist producing a variety of stunning wall hangings and wearable art. As well as running these workshops, Cecile has also directed and instructed a large Community Art Project in Ipswich using Silk Painting, Creative Machine Embroidery and Appliqué. By popular demand Cecile is now available to assist you with your Birthday Parties by holding special workshops catering for the younger clients. Birthdays are very special, and with special attention we can help make your event rememberable for all the chilren. Children and parents have the opportunity to make a couple of scarves and have lots of fun in the process.
